Cupertino Community Services (CCS) is a private non-profit, community based agency that has been providing direct assistance, basic needs and housing and referral services to the West Valley communities for more than 30 years. The FRP provides resources and information to families with children prenatal through age 5 in the West Valley Region of Santa Clara County (Cupertino, Saratoga, West San Jose, Los Gatos and Monte Sereno).

The client requested a handy resource guide that would meet the following objectives — a guide large enough to contain 10 sections made up of almost 200 local resource listings, parenting tips and additional information, yet small enough to fold down to the size of a credit card so that people can tuck the guide into their pockets, diaper bags, or strollers. The guide needed to be easy to read and use, as the majority of the recipients will be multicultural families from multigenerational homes. The icons were developed to provide a matching visual for each section of the guide, for use in print and online. The illustrative style is friendly and reminiscent of a child's toy — perfect for the audience this piece is distributed to.

Results :: Response for the guides has been overwhelmingly positive and the client was extremely satisfied with the solution!
