Calient Networks — a leading provider of intelligent, carrier-class photonic switching systems and software that allows service providers the ability to scale their networks for expanding bandwidth demands and deliver new wavelength services -— was founded by leaders in the photonic carrier systems and networking industries.

The client requested a simple, yet effective piece that would invite conference attendees to a conversation with industry leaders at SuperComm 2000. In order to create impact, yet maintain simplicity, ap*d developed an invitation that uses a combination of graphic devices to engage the viewer, promote the event, and play off of the corporate tagline — where innovation comes to light™. By using bright, bold colors and graphic elements such as a series of wavy lines that wrap around the piece, a long, linear format to complement the graphics and copy, spot varnishes to catch and reflect light, as well as an outer vellum envelope, the recipient's attention is immediately grabbed upon receiving this piece, thus producing the results the client had requested.
